Towards Circular Economy-Based Markets for Machinery and Equipment

The Sustainable Growth through Circular Economy workshop series will continue in autumn 2026 with two online workshops focused on envisioning future procurement practices for machinery and equipment and building a pathway towards circular economy-oriented public procurement.

Participation is free of charge, and the workshops can be attended online from anywhere. The results of the workshops will be used in the development of future national circular economy procurement criteria. 

Who should attend?

  • Companies operating in the machinery and equipment sector, including manufacturers, distributors, maintenance and repair service providers, rental and leasing companies, platform and sharing economy service providers, and product-as-a-service businesses.
  • Public procurement organisations (such as municipalities, educational institutions, and government agencies) as well as relevant industry networks.

 

Participants will:

  • Engage in discussions on sustainability and circular economy requirements and perspectives in public procurement.
  • Strengthen their ability to operate in evolving markets.
  • Enhance their circular economy capabilities and expertise.
  • Support the development of circular economy-driven strategic management.
  • Help shape the future direction of machinery and equipment procurement on the path towards a more sustainable future.
  • Collaboratively identify the services and solutions needed to implement circular economy principles.

What does the current state of the circular economy in the public procurement and machinery and equipment industry look like, and how can the circular economy create value? Come hear and discuss circular economy in procurement based on expert presentations!

The workshop will discuss the current state, needs and future prospects of circular public procurement in the machinery and equipment industry, as well as value creation in the ecosystem of operators: roles, cooperation and utilization of knowledge. The program consists of expert presentations and working together on selected themes on a virtual platform.

Towards Circular Economy-Based Markets for Machinery and Equipment is part of Sustainable growth with circular economy workshop series. The first section, Stronger circular economy skillstook place in Spring 2026. The second section, Towards Circular Economy-Based Markets for Machinery and Equipmentwill take place in Autumn 2026.

Sustainable growth with circular economy workshop series is part of the KIEHKURA project, aiming to advance the transition to circular economy in the machine and equipment industries.
